Aloe Vera & Skin

Consistency is the most effective thing you can do when caring for your skin.  Additionally, using aloe vera gel can do the following:

  • Soften dry skin
  • Heal scars
  • Soothe sunburns
  • Speed up the healing and moisturizing of dry inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
  • It can also speed up the healing of acne - its can be an antiseptic properties can prevent further flareups.

Some people experience itchy skin when using fresh aloe, which is from the sap.  We recommend soaking the cut aloe for about 20 minutes to ensure the sap releases.  Remember that topical aloe gel isn’t the same as using the plant directly on your face.  Also, don’t use aloe vera gel on infected skin. While the gel has microbial properties, its protective layer can disrupt the healing process and make an infection worse.
